Baer Field Motorsports Park Postpones This Weekend’s Events
JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Spring Breakout event shifts to May 6th and 7th
With several sources showing less than favorable weather forecasts for this coming weekend in Fort Wayne and around the region, Baer Field Motorsports Park and Champion Racing Association officials regretfully have decided to postpone this weekend’s “Spring Breakout” Festivities to next Saturday & Sunday, May 6th & 7th which will make for an even busier weekend at B.F.M.P. as the track’s Dirt Track Mini Sprint and Dirt Track Go-Kart Series will also kick off their 2017 campaigns.
“With all the guys expected to be coming in from out of town and the rough weather we are expecting, it is better to save everyone the trouble of getting all the way here just to watch it rain,” track promoter Dave Muzzillo stated, “This is a big race not just for us but for the JEGS/CRA guys as this is the tune-up race before they head to Bristol, Tennessee for their big national event.”
The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance along with the Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA Late Model Sportsman will now hit the track on Sunday, May 7th with the first green flag set to fly shortly after 2 P.M. As for the Baer Field Motorsports Park “Saturday Night Racing Series” divisions this will also mean a slight shift for their program as on Saturday, May 6th the visitors from the Midwest Mini Cup Series and Vore’s Compact Touring Series will be on hand to race in conjunction with the B.F.M.P. Late Model Sportsman, Open Wheel Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Mini Stocks. Full programs for the MMCS, VCTS, as well as BFMP Late Model Sportsman and Mini Stocks will be ran in their entirety on Saturday night, along with the Mini Stocks make-up feature from April 22nd, while the Open Wheel Modifieds and Street Stocks will have their preliminary events held on Saturday, and feature events on Sunday afternoon. A full revised schedule of events will be released by track officials in the coming days.
While the action will be very busy on the track’s 1/2-mile and 3/8-mile layouts, the action will be plentiful around the facility as well as on Friday, May 5th the “Friday Night Fury” Mini Sprint Series kicks off on the track’s 1/6-mile dirt track located on the west side of the property and on Saturday, May 6th the “Slide and Glide” Go-Kart Series gets underway on that same 1/6-mile track. Both the Mini Sprints and Go-Karts have been very much a proving ground over the years where young racers develop their skills before moving up the racing ranks.
Baer Field Motorsports Park is located at 4331 Winters Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809.
